Art 1 pieces
Questions :
What warm-up was the most helpful in this unit ?
The warm-up that was the most helpful was the hand sketches because over time it gave me a better feel for pencil drawings and sketches .
Define composition and value.
Composition is the putting together of ingredients in a piece.
Value is the lightness, shading , or tone of colors in a piece .
Pros and Cons of each medium.
Pencil: When using pencil I found that there was more room for detail and it added a natural feel to the piece. Pencil also isn’t always as attractive as the other mediums.
Pen: I enjoyed using the pen medium for all of the different kinds of shading , but found that it was harder to blend the shading in like you can with pencil or charcoal .
Charcoal: With the charcoal medium it was easier to shade and add a realistic feel to the piece , but it was much more messy and could smudge finer details to your piece .
